What we collect

Account information

• Email address (for login and notifications)
• Display name (shown to your Shed members)
• Profile photo (optional, visible to your Shed)

Weight data

• Your weekly weigh-in entries
• Starting weight (if you set one)
• Target weight (if you set one)

Important: Your actual weight numbers are never shared with other members. They only see the change (e.g., "Down 2lbs") — and you control exactly how that's displayed through your privacy settings.

Activity data

• Posts and comments you create
• Reactions you add to posts
• When you logged in and weighed in

How we use your data

• To provide the service: Calculating your progress, showing the weekly reveal, tracking your streak
• To send notifications: Login links, weigh-in reminders (if enabled), nudges from mates
• To improve the app: Anonymous, aggregated statistics help us understand what's working

We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising. We don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your privacy controls

In Settings, you can control exactly what your Shed sees:

• Gains: Show the number, show "Tough week", or stay silent
• Missed weeks: Show "Missed this week" or stay silent
• Milestones: Share with your Shed or keep private
• Email reminders: Turn on or off anytime
• Push notifications: Enable or disable anytime

How we protect your data

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
• We use secure, password-free magic link authentication
• Database access is strictly limited and audited
• We host on trusted infrastructure (Vercel, Neon PostgreSQL)

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access: See what data we hold about you
• Correct: Update your information anytime
• Delete: Remove your account and data
• Export: Request a copy of your data

Analytics

We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused alternative to Google Analytics. Fathom doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and is fully GDPR compliant. We see aggregate statistics (page views, popular features) but can't identify individual users.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you logged in. We don't use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Your session cookie is encrypted and expires after 90 days of inactivity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. The "last updated" date at the top shows when we last made changes.
